the trafford centre, manchester

it opened in 1998 but is designed to be a pastiche of some kind of baroque palace amongst other things

to those that keep posting that you dont think malls are beautiful, perhaps this isn't the thread for you. I for one like malls, and am interested in layouts, design, form and function. so keep the thread going. perhaps its an acquired taste

Unfortunatley this thread is worlds most beautiful malls. should it have been worlds most average and mundane malls, then I would have plenty to post

Why is it that every time americans do something right , most find something bad in it , this thread is about beautiful malls , not about best historic reproductions . you always change the subject.
That mall is beautifull period , also the ceasers palace mall is great .

As Justme said, "Les Galeries Lafayette" are a department store, not a mall!!! Le Printemps is also a department store.

Moreover you mixing the department store "Galeries Lafayette" (between St Lazare station and the Opera) and the department store of Louis Vuitton on the Champs Elysees...

In Paris, the "Forum des Halles" (built in 1979) is not beautiful in terms of luxury but it is very specify in terms of architecture:

In Paris there are 19 "passages" or "galleries". They are not as beautiful and tall as Gallerias in Milano or Napoli but quite very nice.

Galerie Vero Dodat (1st district):

Passage Jouffroy (1847, 9th district):

Passage de Choiseul (1829, 2nd district):

Passage Verdeau (1847, 9th district):

Passages du Grand Cerf (1835, 3rd district)

Passage des Panoramas (1834, 2nd district):

Galerie Colbert (1826, 2nd district):

Galerie Vivienne (1823, 2nd district):

Passage des Princes (1860, 8th district):

Passage des Panoramas (1834, 2nd district):
