Can anyone tell me where that new mall "Kanyon" in Istanbul is located? What metro or tram stop is closest?

It's located in Levent. If you take the metro in "Taksim" (city centre) you must get off at the "Levent" station. The mall has a direct connection but be careful two gigantic malls are next to each other and both have direct connection to the metro station. The other mall is caled "Metrocity" and was awarded the best mall of the world some years ago.

Btw some pictures of the mall.
Metrocity:

Don't forget that North America is a couple of generations older in mall development. Only recently have most malls in Europe and Asia gained favor from the high streets.

@whereisflat, thanks for that. My Timeout guide book for Istanbul doesn't have the Kanyon Mall as it's probably too new, but it mentions quite a few malls close to the Lavent station. I take it this is one of the major new shopping area's of Istanbul.

You're comparing a 1964 Mall (SD HP) to a 21st century Mall (TMA). Nice try dude.

ETNAPOLIS Shopping Mall in CATANIA, Sicily, by Massimiliano Fuksas.

Very Italian style: simple and elegant.

ok i like the nirmal lifestyle mall in mumbai but then again im being biased

the dubai malls are pretty good the ibn battuta is amazing i really cant see anything "tacky" about it
i dont really remember emirates amll but i think it was so so not like the best or not the worst but towards the positive end of the spectrum
and mercanto or w.ejeez when theres no lighting inside it looks kinda ugly and white kinda us feel to it which is not bad but kinda ugly but with the lighting it looks good
btw the best part of ibn battuta was the tunisian part i loved the sky thing and old building style

i know india has a lot more malls in the last yr or somthing cause i go back evyr yr and this summer when i went i was like wtf but anyway the malls are pretty cool but
sadly i am feeling lazy right now and have some home work to do so c ya

Langham Place in Hong Kong is rather interesting, not the biggest or most beautiful but has an interesting thing going on anyway...
