Does anyone have any info on what's happening with this tower? Or better yet, has anyone succeeded in getting any kind of refund? We were told Al Masah are to take on construction themselves but we've been told this several times since early this year and it hasn't happened. We were also told if we cancelled the contract they'd keep around 25 per cent of what we've paid and it would take up to a year to get the money back. Any info much appreciated.

but you could check RERA, don't count on them knowing anything...they don't know how to interpret their own laws let alone enforcing any...check law 9 ...30 percent was the last time I heard on any given project ...this one is not excluded from the rest...it's in the same old location along with all the many other uncompleted...this thread started with it being on hold and it seems that this hasn't changed much since that came to be, but stay positive...that's the "buzz" word going around even if it takes 10 years to complete patience is a virtue..

I intend to ask RERA to conduct another Screampoint report with a view to requesting cancellation of the project, as it's clearly not going anywhere. I know it's a long shot but if all investors do this, perhaps we might get somewhere.

If you own a unit in Sports One please consider contacting RERA to ask for another report. If they hear from enough of us, they might actually do something.

I have been discussing exchanging for another property with them but have got nowhere so far. Did you receive an email from them saying they're applying to cancel the project or did you hear it from someone else?

I received letter from almasah intl. that they are trying to cancel the project of so much delays. So if i want to exchange the property i can call or email within 14 days.

When i call the office i was told that construction of project has started and they want to make it clear that delay has been done by axon developer and not by almasah intl. completion time for the project is 2012 ending.

Did anyone got such email or did anyone called the office.

It is my understanding of the situtiation that it is a lot better if the project gets cancelled..you will then get your money back only if nothing has started...if things have begun and stopped for long periods here then there are big problems (no money and no confidence in the off plans...no one wants to touch them now) and here like the rest in DSC are experiencing the same.

If you have invested in Sports One Tower then I strongly suggest you contact Axon. According to them the project will resume shortly and a revised payment plan has been approved by RERA. They have sent a letter and payment plan updating investors on the reasons for delays and their intent to move forward. Anyone who needs more info should contact hhhin@axongroups.com (Personally I need to see real construction on site before I move forward) Words from "Developers" have lost any impact.

I hope none of the investors fall for this "new plan" trick. The fact is that AXON has received a cancellation letter from RERA. "Sport One" project is canceled by Rera but it is not yet official since the developers have the chance to challenge the decision. However it is just a matter of time since this project is not worthy of being constructed at all. Now the developers are doing their best trying to prevent or actually delay the cancellation even by starting some small construction resume which is exactly what they did 2 years ago. This project is currently 4 years old. According to the law, they will have to give back all the investor monies within 2 months after the cancellation is official. Best advise at the moment is to re-group and put further pressure on AXON and ALMASAH by taking more cases to court. As long as i am informed, Dr. Talebi in ALMASAH has received most of the payments in cash and not in the ESCROW account. Take further advise from your local lawyers and be informed that Dr. TALEBI can go to prison solely for this one action.

Stephen I am honestly surprised by your post and I can only believe that you are an agent of either AXON or ALMASAH. Have you tried sending an email to the email address you have posted here yourself ?(it is not a valid address) Have you even tried to browse their website www.axongroups.com ? (it has not been available for over a year)

No I am not an agent. Try contacting Axon on 04 887 9047 and speak with Mr Kim. He can send you the letter and RERA plan. I would be very happy if this was cancelled and I got my 100% back, but I'm not holding my breath.
