Indeed. When they removed the spire the aesthetics took a turn for the worse. This height increase improves the visual balance between the three stages.

Brief Description: Class-A+ offices and residential areas, 5 basement floors with 3 floors of basement parking garages, modern aluminum curtain wall fašade, shops and retail areas on the entrance floor, SPA center on the 42nd floor; fully equipped with ventilation, fire protection, building management and fašade cleaning systems. Here are some highlights of this project:

Height of the building: 380 m

First twin deck lift system in Moscow (two cabins in one shaft)

When completed, it will be among top 20 of the tallest skyscrapers in the world

77-Storey building including 5 underground floors

Fire resistant reinforced concrete structure

130,000 m3 of concrete, 35,000 tons of reinforcement

Sophisticated fašade, combination of steel structure, glass and aluminum, approximately 50,000 m2 of glass units and 24,000 m2 of aluminum cladding and 1,500 tons of external steel structure.

29 elevators and 3 escalators

Direct connection to Moscow metro system


Mercury City Tower is located on Krasnopresnenskaya Naberezhnaya on the banks of the Moscow River in Moscow-City, Moscow's new international business center. The 380 meter Mercury City Tower has 77 floors above ground and another 5 levels below ground, covering a total area of more than 163,000 square meters.

Mercury City Tower is planned to warm the Moscow skyline with its golden color and magnificent lighting. Its post modern architecture blends seamlessly into the ancient city of Moscow. When completed, the Tower will be the tallest building in Europe. Mercury City Tower is not merely a building, it is a work of art created by skillful craftsmen. Without a doubt, Mercury City Tower deserves recognition as one of the most spectacular buildings in the world, with its unique design and glistening golden fašade. In order to achieve maximum comfort and security for its residents, the architects designed the internal space where they ensured that the residential, office and retail zones are independent and accessed via their own entrances and lift clusters.

77 floors sounds about right for 380m. Maybe it is a new height thus we will have a big elongation of the top section!

What about 77 floors at 332 m (or 338 m?) and a 48 m (or 42 m?) spire until 380 m ?

Why did they choose this colour? It doesn't match any of the surrounding buildings. Like Aurora Plaza in Pudong. However, Aurora Plaza is smaller and Mercury City Tower stands out too much.

Maybe it doesn't really match with the other towers, but believe me, this tower is much better where he is now, than when he stands alone.

Well, in my opinion, color is the best thing for a skyscraper. Looks more special, attractive and warmer. A skyline filled with grey and colorless towers doesn't give you that feeling.
