Turbosnail, you are really playing dumb here by saying that Europe boils down only to the EU.

I'll try!

It's really a matter of taste, I have always thought russias skyline is by far better than others, but now the Russia tower has been canned who knows how this skyline will fare against other skylines in 10+ years! If tour crystal island thing gets built, along with the federation and the Russia tower, than you are worthy contenders to future skyline!

Hey! Did you know? "Europe" is a little tiny appendix of the enormous eurasian continent

I think he means europe ends roundabout Ukraine? Russia is a special country, it is the backbone of the Eurasian continent, so therefore being both Asian and European. However sone may argue it is neither, being just... Russian.

Europe is just a large Asian peninsula. Well UK is actually not a part of this peninsula, it's separate island. Mind to note - India actually has their own continent, like Australia. Still it's considered as a part of Asia.

Ummmmmmm it has always been my understanding that Europe was designated running from the Urals westward, which does include the U.K. and Ireland. It is only called a seperate continent for politcal/cultural reasons notfor any physical geographic reason. As far as India is concerned even though it sits on a seperate tectonic plate it is not considered it's own continent. It has effectively merged itself with the rest of the Asian continent. That is what you gotta love about the planet.............it is always reinventing itself.............kinda of like Lady Gaga

The UK and Ireland are definitely Europe. They made a point of that when they joined the Council of Europe. As to why Europe is a continent and India is not is simply due to power. Europe once dominated the world and as thus had the influence to self-ordain themselves a continent per se. Europe is a continent, that though culturally based, is still a continent for argument's sake.

OK, let me run the risk of being torn apart in the bearpit and put it another way - if I'm sat on the edge of a swimming pool with my feet dangling in the pool, I'm not really in the pool am I? Also if I'm not taking part in the swimming group going on in the pool, I'm not a part of the pool.

Absolutely right! Before 1951 (Coal and Steel Comunity) or 1957 (Rome Treaty) Europe (you call it "swimming pool") did not exist and all we had there was Asia.

Comparing buildings is pointless to me, Mercury Tower & Shard are different buildings in many ways, they're both very promising and will be a great addition in their respective capitals.

Back on topic, I really am surprised by the pace of Mercury's construction, it's very impressive indeed...regarding the laying of the first clad panels, can you guys remind me of the date please? I really look forward to it as its golden color is fantastic...

I am too surprised. I remember a couple of months ago someone involved in the construction of this building posted in this thread about only having enough funds to build the first handful of levels, but now we already have more than twenty, so hopefully that means that all funding problems have been solved.
