I really hope it looks in reality like on the last photo, because on most pics it looks way too orange.

I haven't seen Mercury CT with my own eyes as yet, but as I understood the color of glass depends on the viewing angle and illumination. So, on some photos you can see the color like that , but on others it's more orange

Mercury will be №1 sooner or later. But Shard is a great tower, too. I think it deserve to be the tallest for a short time.

Opinion. Size is not everything, I prefer design and quality.

So is it really taller now than Federation Tower or does it just look like this? Anybody knows the current height of both buildings?

Me too. That's why I prefer FT over both of other towers. Anyway it's OT here. Nice progress on Mercury.

I disagree dude. Have you seen most of Shard's pics? In the sunshine (without clouds), its clad looks terrible, it's very visible with the aerial shots...even though I like The Shard whose architecture is great, I must admit that I'm very disappointed with the chosen clad. But actually, as London's weather usually is cloudy/rainy, Shard will look great 5 days out of 7 .

I really am fond of Mercury Tower, its design is unusual/amazing and so is its clad!

@Jex7844

It's impossible to make a building like the shard have cladding that always look good. The current cladding is arguably one of the highest quality EVER used on a skyscraper, and it is overcast so often in London that it is difficult for the shard to look that striking... It just reflects the dull sky. You are the only person I have seen who thinks the shard looks its best in cloudy conditions- it looks stunning in the sun IMO!Anyway, why so much talk of the shard in a Russian thread? It's because already the shard at London bridge is setting the standard for European skyscrapers. It's what European skyscrapers will be compared to for years to come.

You can't really be that disappointed Jex. What would you have suggested they use instead of the current clad? A different colour would have ruined Piano's image of a tower 'blending with the sky to disappear into the clouds' and the quality can't be complained about at all, considering how FILTHY the tower currently is...
