No other city in the middle east can compete with tehran.

Some pics from streets of Tehran captured by Face book page "HONY: Humans of New York"
https://www.facebook.com/humansofnewyork ![]() She tried to claim that she wasn't photogenic, then she totally Vogued. — with juh at Tehran, Iran. ![]() Mother and daughter share a shopping day in North Tehran. — at Tehran, Iran. ![]() When I first asked for their photograph, they smiled but didn't answer. I assumed that meant "no." "I think they would like to," said my guide, "but they are just being modest. It is a very Iranian way to act. Ask one more time -- they will say yes." For more see their face book page. |

It looks very barren, there seems to be few historical buildings left and it looks extremely chaotic/polluted. I once read that Tehran is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Not much modernity either compared to the most modern Middle Eastern cities. Damascus alone is way more interesting in terms of heritage, historical buildings, charm etc. It's not even the most interesting city in Iran. I like Isfahan and Shiraz more. |

i think he ment in terms of diversity and vibe, rather than physicality
tehran has a total pop of nearly 15-17 million, its a bit hard comparing it to other cities unfortunately, stupid rulers have destroyed the historical core, u can check its lost heritage in the pre revolution photos in the iran section tehran is different though, than beyrut telavivibe |
