impressive feat of engineering but tacky and only time will tell if these islands can withstand mother nature.

No one is moving in this year, however roads are more then ok even for a Ferrari Enzo or a Carrera GT.

Agree on the mother nature thing... but I dont think Palm Jumeirah is tacky in anyway... shud be a great place to live when the entire project is completed in 4-5 years time

This is surreal, i just can't say anything more... It's a huge urbanisation, a huge inversion...

It seems that the project is very advanced...

When it should be inaugurated?

end of this year , actually end of november with handover of the first 500 villas, (some of the fronds do actually look pretty much completed even with roads etc).

first phase with all shoreline apartments and villas will be ready mid 2007.

first hotel probably open end 2008 (except the shoreline one).

give em another three years and this will be an amazing place to live, and on completion in 2010.. probably one of the best properties to own in the world.

wait to see some close ups, these houses are massive but fairly spaced, of course some more distance would have been good but it's quite ok now.

some of the fronds are almost finished, there won't be thaaat much more greenery on those since the outlines are beaches..
