Love the pictures. How does Dubai get it's electricity? I would think building a Nuclear Power plant out in the desert would be a great idea.

next to Dubai Marina has a power station (oil) .

yes that is good idea and they should use solar cells as well.

Yeah, if they can afford to build all these buildings, I know they could afford to build some good renewable energy facilities.

Edit: On the first and last picture in TowerPower's post, what is that land mass that's out in the gulf? Is that another development or natural islands? I can't tell.

Does anyone know what will be built on the open land between the shoreline apartments about half way up the trunk that protrudes out into the sea? The builders seem to be using it for their building materials at the moment. (see photo 3 on TowerPower post).
