The render of TRUMP International Hotel & Tower is new and the design changes at the base and Plazza around the tower (compared with earlier renders) are clearly visible.

NAKHEEL CELEBRATES THE TRUMP INTERNATIONAL HOTEL & TOWER DUBAI WITH STAR STUDDED LOS ANGELES EVENT

-Christina Aguilera gives private performance to standout crowd including His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Donald J. Trump, Orlando Bloom, Hilary Swank, Aaron Eckhart, Lucy Liu, Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Kate Walsh, Pete Wentz, P.Diddy, Will.i.am, Avril Lavigne and Ivanka Trump -

Los Angeles (August 25th 2008): Two of the world's leading developers, Nakheel and the Trump Organization, have come together to introduce the Trump International Hotel & Tower Dubai on the Palm Jumeirah, the iconic, man-made island in heart of the Arabian Gulf to the LA market. A celebration took place at the 3.5 acre Tar Estate located in the prestigious Los Angeles neighbourhood of Bel Air. A 60-foot dome, 80-foot tent and special area dedicated to a performance by Christina Aguilera’s were created.

Nakheel Executive Chairman, His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Nakheel Chief Executive Officer, Chris O’Donnell and Nakheel Director of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, Manal Shaheen were all in attendance. Additional notable attendees at the lavish event included Donald J. Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Orlando Bloom, Hilary Swank, Aaron Eckhart, Lucy Liu, Hayden Panettiere, Pete Wentz, Paula Abdul, Avril Lavigne, Kate Walsh, Wayne Gretsky, Sam Nazarian, P.Diddy, Will.i.am and more.

“This event was a follow-up to the global sales launch in New York in June,” said Manal Shaheen, Nakheel Director of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.

“The New York event was such a success that His Excellency, Sultan bin Sulayem and Donald J. Trump decided to showcase this incredible project on the West Coast. The Tar Estate was a beautiful setting for this event and the by Christina Aguilera’s performance was one of the main highlights of this spectacular evening.

“We are thrilled by the success of this project so far. It has exceeded everyone’s expectations. Sales have already broken records in Dubai. Trump International Hotel & Tower is destined to become the next great Dubai icon of ultimate luxury.”

The event was kicked off by a video presentation of the project as well as a few welcome words from Chairman Sultan bin Sulayem and Donald J. Trump, after which guests enjoyed a private performance by Christina Aguilera. Pete Wentz was the guest DJ for the evening and guests mingled and enjoyed Wolfgang Puck’s cuisine throughout the 3.5 acres property. A 13 metre-long scale model of Dubai incorporating all current Nakheel developments and other major projects in the city provided guests with a sense of the incredible landmarks that Nakheel has developed in the region. 360 degree video presentations and photographs of Dubai were projected on the inside of the dome and guests were able to get a glimpse of the tower from an impressive and highly detailed model of the project in an oversized room adjacent to the dome.

The premier luxury hotel and residential tower, one of the most anticipated new builds in Dubai and Trump's first in the region, began construction in July and is poised to become a stunning addition to the skyline of Dubai. A masterpiece of architecture, the 62-story, stainless steel and glass Trump International Hotel & Tower Dubai will be the tallest structure on Palm Jumeirah and is expected to be completed in summer 2011.

Things light up pretty fast there in Dubai (cfr BD twice). Must be because of the oil in the ground.

OH NO! Not the Front! It's a good thing the fire did not destroy the whole building. That will totally delay the opening.

Off Topic: I wonder how the Emergency Response act in Dubai? Are they prepared for any Terrorist Attack or probably earthquake? Just curious.

Yes the entrance to the hotel, but the officials are saying now that the damagge is not extensive and they will repair them in time for the opening. It seams the lobby beneath was not affected at all.

However the Royal Suite above seams to have been smoke-demagged.

i think this will happen more often in Dubai, especially since they are so close to terrorist activity, and the taliban oppose westernization

Who said this has anything to do with the Taliban?
Please try to comment with facts or informed analysis and not just outlandish statements. Thanks.

It's just i fire. Nothing special. The building was empty anyways so a terrorist would never attack it.

^NUTTER

This does however raise interesting and important questions about the quality of materials used and fire safety regulations in Dubai. It seems there is a large fire almost every month out there, I love what they're doing but would hate to think they're cutting corners! Let's hope the only reason for the excessive ammount of fires is just the larger number of projects rather than anything more serious!
