That thing is wrong, How the fuck london has more points then dubai? London is on 24 and dubai has ranked 35th. London hardly has any skyscrapers and i know it for a fact that dubai has way more skyscrapers then london.

Frankfurt is ranked 61 and there skyline is way better then any other european city.

I am back as an editor of the UAE.

Getting back to the topic, clearly the rankings are flawed. I am sure there are a lot of buidlings in Dubai that are not listed on emporis. For that matter Abu Dhabi is nowhere to be seen when over 60-70% of AD buildings are over 12 stories.

Anyway, not to worry. The tallest block along with BD alone will take Dubai into the top 10 (looking at the points distribution). After that sky's the limit with Business Bay, Waterfront, Jumeirah Village and so on

We may never go past HK in terms of number of buildings.. but I think we can definitely aim for top spot in terms of rankings about 10-15 years from now.

just to inform you guys about the completeness of emporis
for dubai i always add new buildings once they are being launched or when we found them being for sale

i don't add towers like, for example, the super stylish aedas designed emaar business towers in the burj dubai district, simply because there is no info anywhere

i know the projects which are missing on emporis and i'm able to add them once we can be sure those projects are approved and will go ahead


i pretty much covered 98% of the completed buildings in dubai above 12 storeys
there still are a few missing in deira area, which i need to find

the biggest problem will be to keep track of what's going on in al nahda, al qusais and the area towards the sharjah border
hundreds of mid-rises are being built here and most of them don't have names at all

i was there before i left in february and added a few of them and will have to go there again one day, hopefully i can make it this summer

however, the dubai database on emporis is excellent, of course it's not perfect, but considering how much data we are able to gather, it's quite good

now we know that nakheel will give us the heights of all jlt towers, it will further improve the quality of the database, because getting official heights is the second hardest task, after keeping track of these new unnamed buildings which are under construction
