Since Chongqing Airport wasn't that updated for sometime, I think the moderators and admin people decided to close the thread...

I checked the old closed thread, it's pretty out of date. Somebody may create a new one with latest terminals/runways and construction update.

The terminal is coming along very nicely. Shenzhen really deserves something like this for it's air transportation.

I think the U.S- Styled covers looks sh*t as you mentioned

I do think, however, the reason why they are using it is to allow for advertising purposes? Here in Perth, and if you look at the Kunming new terminal, they also have that covered jetbridges.

If you look clearly, the frames before the covers will be encased in glass, so it will still look classy. I also think that the covers maybe more flexible, unlike the glass covers, which will mainly be rigid.

Thinking of it, I think you may be making a fuss over nothing since almost all airports work this way right? Its just that they havent glassed the section before hand? I may be wrong

I had no idea the original terminals would be closing. Don't they have access to the Shenzhen Metro? Are they going to demolish the first two terminals and rename T3 to T1 or something like that? I was in I think Terminal B(the northernmost terminal) and it looked pretty nice to me. Maybe I was just excited to be at SZX.

What will they do with the area if those terminals aren't going to be used?

yes they do connect with Shenzhen Metro...
still no idea what they are going to be after closing...
I think you mean Terminal A which is the newer one.
Terminal B was built in 1991 ish and refurbished after Terminal A started to operated...
