Wow, it's going to look bigger than I thought. Just imagine turning off Bishopsgate onto Camomile Street and walking down it with this and Heron towering over your head on either side - a 202m tower on your left, and a 172m tower on your right. It'll be almost as good as the eventual 'Bishopsgate Wall' effect.

It is growing on me, but.... I just wish they'd done more with the roof! Either keep it as a glass box and in respect to the International style or give it some extra umph. Well, that won't happen, but it'll be a mother of an addition - Heron's fat neighbour. I suppose a dramatic lighting scheme for a crown could make this quite a beaut.

Looks the spitting image of WTC7, let's hope the cladding is of a similar quality

The broad dimensions and big floor plates of this tower make it look more like something you would find in a North American city rather than London.

I have always been a big fan of this project, as much as everybody loves their uniquely shaped scrapers, this is a pretty sturdy looking building that will at some nice height/density into the skyline

videos have sold it to me. Didn't realise it was so tall. Will definitly improve the overall cluster so i hope it gets built. Also im a sucker for really shiny buildings

A comment on that YouTube video;

"Worst of all, it will stand in the way of the Heron Tower's south-facing side, obscuring its wonderful architectural and lighting details. It's a lost opportunity. What a shame."

haha yes I agree it's a shame the direct view of the blue LED lighting will be lost, but they can be viewed from other directions just as well. Also during the day, the South face the The Heron is horrid, with it's two tone glazing. I'm glad 100 BG will block it. I also like the boxiness of this tower. Every new building doesn't have to be wacky.

It's basically the direct opposite of 20 Fenchurch street.

It's a really refined design for the city, after all these wacky designs it's what the city needs, something a little more minimal.

It's a shame it's so close to Heron, a few blocks across and it would have balanced the cluster out a bit better from the east and west.

I wouldn't be surprised if they push ahead with this, as someone else mentioned it wouldn't even surprise me if this went up before the Pinnacle.

along with Heron it also neatens up the road and pavement layout IMHO, too much development in London spills onto the pavement, makes it irregular. I am all about nice clean lines, order dammit order

I like this building, I think it is just what the City of London skyline needs. It fits in perfectly. I just hope this one actually gets built.

What happened to the proposed 200m + Bishopgate tower?

Is it supposed to be clad in reflective, mirrored glass? Is that why it's shown as being so very shiny? The video ferge posted above should be accompanied by the theme from Dallas.
