WOW, when was this?

Around 72/73 vs Everton. Alan Ball scored a cracker against his old club in a 1-0 win. I had also before that been to Chelsea and Spurs both 3-0 defeats to Leeds.

In terms of a club as a whole? no but in terms of the team and transfer policy? yes.

Not at all in my unproffesional opinion.

They could sqaure off the top tiers like the one in cardiffs millenium stadium, add some concrete support towers beneath, with stair wells. Expand the roof to a square shape rather than an oval. 70,000 seater.

Gunners charge £94

Gunners charge £94

By AIDAN MAGEE

ARSENAL fans have blasted the club for charging £94 for top tickets at their new Emirates Stadium home.

The Gunners expect punters to lash out for Category A ties with Chelsea, Manchester United, Spurs, Liverpool and West Ham.

Premiership champions Chelsea charge £60 for their best seats — with United asking only £39.

Tony Madden, co-editor of Arsenal fanzine Highbury High, said: “These prices are incredibly expensive. The club seems to be turning its back on its roots.

“Arsenal are relying on fans just moaning and then handing over the money.

“It costs an absolute fortune for an ordinary working-class bloke to take his kids along to a game.”

Top West End shows like Phantom of the Opera only charge £50 for their best tickets and you can watch rugby’s Heineken Cup final at Twickenham for £60.

An Arsenal spokesman said: “We are very comfortable with our pricing.”

But Mark Longden, from Manchester United’s Independent Supporters’ Association, said: “Even the £39 we charge is bad.”

PREM CLUBS’ top-priced tickets — Arsenal £94; Spurs £71; Chelsea £60; West Ham £57; Newcastle £50; Fulham £45; Reading £41; Middlesbrough £40; Blackburn, Bolton, Man Utd £39; Man City £38; Everton £37; Aston Villa, Charlton, Wigan, Watford £35; Liverpool, Sheff Utd £34; Portsmouth £30.

some doubtful points:
-can the podium keep the support towers?
-is it possibel to expand the roof, can the supporting pillars keep the more weight?
-do you think it would look good?

im unprofessional too

why expand to 70,000 when you can't even fill a 60,000 on a regular basis?

The real capacity of Emirates Stadium

Saturday’s game at the Emirates Stadium will be the first played in front of a capacity crowd.

It has generally been reported that Arsenal’s new ground can hold 60,000, the actual figure is 60,432.

This is divided in the following ways: Lower Tier 24,425, Upper Tier 26,646, Club Level 7,139 and Box Level 2,222.

Well I wasn't expecting that!

Ok, I've followed Ashburton Grove's progress for over a year now, but actually entering the stadium itself today was a completely different experience. It feels MUCH larger in the flesh than in photographs. It truly is a beautiful stadium. Its about time the Premiership had a showpiece stadium.

I totally agree. My guess is that they probably haven't found a sponsor or finalised any deal for the sponsor they wish to place there.
Although I could be wrong and they may leave it blank for the same reasons they left the seats blank but the inside of that ground needs something arsenal related(cannon or logo) just to make the ground feel more like home.

The concrete seems a strange colour as well, really dark, almost as if it's wet.

Ashburton Grove's, it copies of bad quality of the stadium da Luz in Lisbon! Sorry it is my opinion.
