Excitement is something you build over time....for the meantime, there is a hardcore amount of fans that drive some fans away from the game, like any other place
the NT still fill their stadiums but again the excitement was down because they started very bad and the media also has a part in building expectations and then putting down the team.
also in the champions the big clubs easily bring 40k people to ramat gan so the demand is there. maccabi haifa lowered prices to the europe cup after a lot of complaints about ticket prices for the champions. the clubs have to understand the market, the audience, its all down to better management. also clubs shouldnt let players move to europe after one good season its not how to build clubs and it hurts the fans and the league.

I like Beitar Nes Tubruk model....... build a player, grease him up...sell him for millions

But I think Israeli sports is above average, but mediocre when you compare to the Belgian or Swiss leauge. We never play as if we mean it or as if it has an merits to us. We play just for the sake of it and we get lower than expected results.....

I dont know.... I think Petach Tikva teams are having a good season this year with the new stadium...maybe that would encourage other areas to build a stadium as well...
I dont agree with building a a 50,000 seater in Beer Sheva..but something small and intimate would do

16,000 is maybe small for Beer Sheva. Something like 20-25,000 is a good deal. Beer Sheva is an emerging type city...

The most important thing about these stadiums is to go against neglect. I think you have to arrange important events for the community in this stadium like NT games, concerts, graduations, trade shows..... dont have it just for saturday and sunday.

youre right.
this model is done in basketball arenas like yad eliyahu nokia, romema arena or other sport halls that have concerts. in stadiums I know its very popular as venues overseas here the only business model is football games and maybe some big concerts. the stadiums dont offer an option for private events and dont have halls.

Renting a stadium is very expensive. I dont think its a good idea. I also dont think you would want to host your wedding in a stadium....but there are many other options that you can do.

Also, you need concession stands. I been to a few stadiums in Israel. Most notably: K. Eliezer and Teddy Stadium. One was made in the late 50's. One in the early 90s. Both dont have anything different. Not one food stand. Not even a fan shop.....
I have been a fan of Israeli soccer for a long time and I remember I was angry that in the early 2000s hardly one of the teams had a fan site. Maybe Haifa through nana.co.il portal......

the new stadiums will have everything. all the clubs and fan sites are organized pretty well.
the problem is the long term management to keep players, to build academies and grow local talent.
all the marketing in the world cant replace just having a good competitive league

Are you serious???

Maccabi P.T bring average of 1,000 fans to a game. Hapoel P.T is in the last place in the league. And Givat Shmuel is not part of Petach Tikvah.

כדורגל הקריטריון היחידי??
יש עוד משהו חוץ מכדורגל בפתח תקוה?
יש ערים שיש בהן עשרות אגודות בכל תחומי הספורט, לא רק שתי קבוצות כדורגל צולעות

There are only two cities in Israel that you can say that they doing something in sports:
Tel Aviv and Rishon Leziyon.

Rishon?!?!?
Both their basketball and their soccer sucks!

their stadium is also small...not old..but small...
you just like to hang out in towns where the Ashkenaz form a large majority

rishon's sport is handball.
ramla and ramat hasharon womens basketball.

ramla are the eurocup womans baskletball champions '11
good examples of how a city can adopt a sport to success.
thats why this model of one sport works.

Were talking about Superland stadium which is what? 3,500 seater?
Its considered small......and Rishon hasnt done much both in Football and Basketball. So I dont know what that town is good for.

Maybe overall sport wise, it seems like a city where people are not out of shape and run, do exercise and all that kinda stuff...

Two good teams in handball.
One team in major football league, one team in major basketball league.
New stadium (less than 10 years).
