![]() New email from Bob Ellis on Pinnacle on Main: Jacob, It is anticipated we will complete submission requirements for a grading permit in October and start thereafter. Projected bldg shell construction timeframe is 14 months with interior completion according to Owners personal requirements. Thank you for your interest.

Here is the video of the story they had on WYFF-TV yesterday about the Peacock Hotel and Spa, the Pinnacle on Main, and McBee Station. Notice the story also includes new renderings of the Peacock like the one that shows the backside of the building: http://www.wyff4.com/video/9941551/index.html

That was an excellent video and the report should generate enthusiasm among Greenville residents. I think it will only be a matter of time before more and more such projects appear all over. All it takes is a great public-private cooperation - Greenville seems to have this component already in place - and a couple of success stories. The rest will come naturally. Thanks for the link, g-man430.

Update on Pinnacle on Main: As of today, the developers now have enough financing to begin construction. Currently, The Ellis Group Architecture Firm is in the process of getting a grading permit. It is anticipated and scheduled that they will have this permit sometime in October. Construction is to begin immediately after they receive the permit.

Greer considers seceding from Spartanburg County. Could be a good boost in population and economy for Greenville County if the deal goes through. BMW would not be included in the deal though. More info: http://goupstate.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...609280330/1062

Demolition of the old Service Merchandise store has begun at Verdae Marketfair. It will be replaced by a Super Bi-Lo. Here are some pics I took today of the progress:

The Greenville City Council will consider the sale of the city plaza at Main and Broad streets as well as a development agreement with Windsor Aughtry Co. Inc. to develop a mixed-use project that is to include a hotel. More info on this story: http://www.greenvilleonline.com/apps...WS01/610020367
Here is a story from May 5th of this year that tells you more about it: http://greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbc...NESS/605050336 (Windsor/Aughtry will get the contract most likely) Here is a story from April 23rd of this year that also talks about it: http://greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbc...NESS/604230323

Email about city hall site:
"Council will be taking action this afternoon on a proposed contract for sale and development agreement on the site. If Council proceeds, this will just be the first reading of an ordinance to sell. It will require a second reading to finalize which, if proceeding, would be at the next regularly scheduled council meeting. The specifics of the actual development would be finalized over a due diligence period and cannot say specifically when that might happen. Generally the first step in a development project is to gain control of a site, then specific designs and programming of the space can commence. The action by council obviously is public, so once taken the announcement of the developer is made. Details of the design, etc, may take some time. Hope that helps." -Nancy Whitworth, City of Greenville Economic Director

Email about city hall site:
Jacob, I understand that you are interested in receiving a copy of the plans for the proposed project. I am not sure when they will be available, as the preliminary design will be modified by City Council during the preliminary design phase. Once the Developer and City have a mutually agreeable design, then we should be able to release something to the public. Charles S. Reyner, Jr., CCIM Windsor/Aughtry Company, Inc.
