Given the size of the building, and how much the sponsors are paying I think the signs are proportional.

Its all very well building mock Albert Dock buildings but what would you put in them? Would they actually serve a purpose apart from trying to be the Albert Dock and actually detracting away from it? I hate the notion that just because something is next to something old it has to be "in keeping" i.e. some fake mock rip off. Which for me damages the integrity of the origional. Name me one building in this country that is a nock off of old and actually good?

Kings Dock as it is serves a purpose, not just for the tourists but also for Liverpool. To be honest if you consider it an eyesore then you have no taste. (Love the way that its a dickie bow tie under the Anglican when your on the ferry)

I quote the Albert Dock, and to copy the formula, because it is proven:
Albert Dock's Proven Formula

It doesn't have to be exactly like the Albert Dock buildings - just the same formula.

Although in the wrong place. If could be even better 500 metres away on the land side.

If you think anytown buildings, and uninspired architecture, built on in-filled water spaces, are taste then God help us if your view is common.

On every level from design through to form, function and setting the Arena has proved to be a massive success.

On a financial level it is adding millions upon millions of pounds to the ecconomy.

The Albert Dock was suffering with closures and half empty stores. It was fast becoming a windswept, univiting place with many holes in it's shopping and leisure offer.

The Arena has changed all that, with the increased trade undeniably helping the Albert Dock.

The Arena will win many awards and many of the people putting on conventions at the arena have said that the key factor in it is the location.

Another Albert Dock style complex without the ecconomic driver of the Arena to drive passing trade and give a reason to go there, would have been a disaster and would have been a waste of land/use.

John is in an EXTREME minority and his views reflect the direct opposite to the vast majority of people who love the arena and see it as a massive plus for the city.

On every single level he is wrong, but keeps pushing the issue, even though it's been built now and is a massive success and will never within his lifetime be knocked down.

He must have asburgers or something. Theres deffinately a mental deficiency going on with him.

Function? yes. Form? no. A sickly green too.

I would add more if on the side of Queens Dock, 500 metres away.

The Albert Dock is success and has changed it emphasis to more leisure than curio shops.

It would help the Albert if 500 metres away as well.

Awards? It looks kaka. Like two toilets back to back.

Flats over would ensure density and vibrancy in all the branch docks of Kings and Queens Docks.

You mean I am one of the few who have looked at it properly, instead of creaming that my fav bang your head on the wall band is playing there.

Keep banging your head on the wall. You really don't get the point do you?

I'll have to disagree with that the arena looks great,Liverpool looks absolutely beautiful from the inside of it too,it works on every level.
