PAris is definately one of the most beautiful cities in the world..
But ¿Rio de Janeiro and New York ??? sorry but, not... Rio has a beautiful surrounding , but the city it´s not beautiful at all. New York it´s really impressive, but i don´t find it beautiful. There are many cities that are much more beautiful. |

Its personal preference really. I personally wouldnt include Rio or New York but thats just me. There are so many beautiful cities in the world and beautiful in different ways. A few others beauties are Edinburgh, Athens, Rome, Florence, Istanbul, Vienna, Stockholm, Prague, St. Petersburg, Krakow to name just a few in Europe. Depends what youere into doesnt it. Paris is stunning though.

Depends on the nature of the city, if it has a mountainous sorrounding it sure looks much better!

Paris' beauty is in a league of its own.
New York is also beautiful. The funny thing though is that many Americans, particularly Midwesterners, are in denial about the pulchritude of the country's most historic and best city. I find this incredible. Here are some photos and a small blurb about its history. On April 17, 1524, Giovanni Verranzano became the first European to sail into New York Harbor. The Dutch then establish a settlement called New Amsterdam in 1613. To put these dates into perspective, Shakespeare was alive in 1613, Napolean wouldn't be defeated at Waterloo for over 200 years, and London was a town of 200,000 people. Who would have guessed that this surreal metropolis would have arisen. I collected photos from various sources including magnificent photos taken by Krulltime, HKSkyline, TalB. They are vast and superb. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 40 Wall Street ![]() ![]() The Municipal Building ![]() ![]() The old city hall which dates from 1802 sits across the street from it The San Remo ![]() 20 Exchange Place ![]() Federal Courthouse ![]() While not skyscrapers, the Surrogates Court and the Tweed Courthouse across the street are awesome 120 Broadway Bankers Trust ![]() Bankers Trust at ground level (on right hand side) Sherry Netherland and the Pierre ![]() Woolworth ![]() ![]() The Beresford ![]() Metlife ![]() ![]() New York Life ![]() ![]() The Flatiron ![]() The El Dorado (which looks a lot like the San Remo (also on CPW)) ![]() ![]() American Radiator ![]() General Electric ![]() Standard Oil The Trinity Building (named after Trinity Church next door) Trinity Church with the Trinity Building in the background No introduction needed The Crown Building ![]() 55 Liberty St. ![]() The Helmsley ![]() The Waldorf ![]() The Carlyle ![]() The Ansonia ![]() ![]()

I agree with Paris. Rio's natural beauty is really nice. But I think Buenos Aires or Sydney deserves a spot. Anyhow, nice pictures.

Ok Lloyd George, we get your point. Thanks for making the thread unmanageable with your inundation of millions of photos. Fine NYC is one of the top three.

There are a lot of nice cities in the world. If I have to pick three they would be
Venice Paris Isfahan While there are other others to mention such as Florance, Istanbul, Kyoto, Shiraz, Xian, Athens, Rome, Aqra, Samarkhand, etc.
