While I find NY the best city on earth for architecture, I would have to put San Francisco way ahead as far as beauty is concerned. SF imo, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I would agree with that statement. For me, San Francisco is more a beautiful city. It has a very pristine setting. Vancouver is also very beautiful
For me though, the best mixture of a beautiful skyline and pristine setting: HONG KONG ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW: Those NYC pictures crashed my computer as well. |

I can understand you sentiments of Hong Kong, however I was speaking more of the street scenes as far as beauty was concerned. SF is hard to beat in that regard.

my comp froze for like 5 minutes having to load all that =\ I was scrolling down & I think you posted alot of doubles..
I really can't choose which city I like the most, since I haven't even visited them all yet. But Paris is definately at the top. I don't agree with NY though..I dunno, IMO there's nothing too special about it, besides all the skyscrapers. I like some mountains & lakes |

Why has nobody mentioned any australian cities??? There are lots of pretty ones eg. perth, brisbane, sydney, melbourne. I agree with paris which has lots of beautifal structures but ney york doesnt have enough nature. I also like perth and melbourne but its impossible for ne1 to have seen all the cities even the small ones. some of the architecture and parks in melbourne are great!!!! (flinder st. fed sq. southern cross station, eureka tower, domain/botanical gardens) so i will say in no order:
San Francisco Paris Melbourne Barcelona Brisbane |

Paris obviously and unarguably top 3. NY has its points. Imposing and in ways THE city but Beautiful? Arguably. Rio? No. Great setting but no.
Barcelona, Hong Kong for sheer 21st century kick ass pizzazz and the small university city of Cambridge in England all in their own way qualify for mention. |
