as some people mentioned earlier, this is apparently a serious foundation side wall failure. Not enough reinforcement was put in to support the force of water pushing inward to the land.

holy shit!! You can see a boat in the background floating down the channel...

well, imagine if that boat was anywhere near that wall when it failed

No matter how powerful that boats motors are, the sheer pulling force of the water filling that void, would have sucked the boat right into the construction hole..

I wonder how much $$ this will cost the Contractors?? Construction equipment is not cheap! I would expect them to have the equipment insured..

There might have been even people walking on the promenade, and even forumers doing a photo-update tour of the aerea.

That is really sad news. It happens when the construction got out of control and unable to double check to make sure everything is under control before they can go ahead start another construction project. This is great lesson that anyone of us can learn from it.

I hope people will figure it out how to flush that water pool and let it dry for a bit and fix the wall at same time so they can go ahead and finish this construction asap.

Yes, That is a really sad news for Dubai, I hope that they fixed the problem, because is horrible to see the construction stop this way.

Twisting towers are easy to model but once you get into details it becomes a nightmare. My PC was lagging from this tower alone. Also podium not done yet so no render in the skyling
