That cladding looks incredibly complex, haven't seen anything like it before! Shows that a lot of thought was put into this tower!

Again you all forgot the first twisted tower: Turning Torso in Malmö, Sweden.
Designed by architect: Santiago Calatrava

Thats a kind of odd comment? Since this is the Infinity Tower thread, not the twisting tower thread......

:arguably the 2nd best tall building in Dubai after the Burj al Arab, great design although the cladding is radically different to the last renders I saw

Turning Torso was build back in 2005 and was the first twisted Skyscraper ever build.

I wouldn't call revolution tower for actually "twisted" because i feel like they cheated with it. Looks more like they just turned floor levels in opposite directions and its doesn't even looks beautiful.

The revolution tower is "twisted", the edges just aren't smooth which gives it a different look.....

Twisted = twisted. What does it matter anyway? Let's get really back on topic instead of talking about other twisting towers. It's about the Infinity tower in Dubai, remember?

The difference between Hong Kong's massive seas of ugly uninspired residential towers and Dubai's 300m tall tacky resis is that those in Hong Kong while far greater in number don't scream for attention (and it's the brilliant buildings who do). Honestly I think it would help the Dubai skyline a great deal to complement what they currently have with a whole bunch of boring boxes. Because paradoxically it would make for a more varied skyline. Right now it just looks so artificial. Still a great skyline of course.
Just not in the same league as Hong Kong, New York, Chicago, Shanghai and maybe even a few other Chinese cities. Despite the fact that the numbers would seem to suggest they are.

Agreed. I've lived in New York and Toronto. Both skylines consist mostly of boxes, yet look brilliant to me.

The Dubai marina has that bunch of boring boxes at JBR. A mix between the boxes and the design towers would have looked easier on the eye.
