The flooding was so easy, a split second and the whole thing is gone, to redo it, you'll need to build a submerged coffer dam, before pumping the water out, and there we'll get back to square one.

in my own little world, i would pump the hole full of the underwater hardening concrete the japanese invented for there bride, then get some pump to drain the water and your back as square one.

This structure needs to be built. I believe it would be VERY worth the money and effort.

I know very well what you meant but the point is that this is not a case of water pipe bursting, rather natural flow of sea water.

The water level on the hole CANNOT rise higher then the sea level and since the banks (retain walls) of the site are way over that level, the water inside the hole cannot go/flow over them.
