Home and dry!?

Almost I had given up hope... but here on the Dubai Marina subforum, Tractor has posted this pic yesterday:

And for the first time in almost 13 months, no water is visable inside the plot!! If the water demons are finally defeated, than congrats to the persistent team of workers.

So I guess we might see the turning Infinity Tower rising in 2009/2010...
...and the even taller Damac Heights to the right could get started sooner or later, too!

I think when u watch closely you'll still find water at the area where all the workers are on the picture.

correct, if you look at the upper part of the picture, you can see that the pumps are still spilling water back into the marina.. but I agree that it looks good that they can start with the foundation soon.. finally!

The pumps will ALWAYS pump water out of the site. Don't forget that the site is below the sea level and water will always come from the bottom.

What they do, is dug a deep well (or a few of them) and pump the water out, lowering the water table of the site below the bottom of the site, so the site can be dry and work can go smoothly.

Sometimes people search for problems! What do you want? Digging such a deep hole beside the river must give problems with water infiltration!

It's the sea actually, and the problem was not with water infiltration but with the collapse of the quay and the site perimeter walls, totally flooding the site.

that marina pic is quite incredible! distance between hole and see is not much gap better improve quality of the site perimeter walls to prevent flooding this site or any other thats way too close to the sea either way its a great tower and hope it gets built soon

It will be a relief for all when they finally get the core in place.

I still dont think the design is suitable for the location though.
