I don't think it's thinking that long... it's not an easy structure to be build.

Dequal, it is not only the structure they are building... but also the state of the site.
I do not know if you were following the progress of all these buildings prior to your join date (March 2008), but the wall between the Infinity Towers' site and the water of Dubai Marina broke. If you go back through this thread, you will be able to see the result.
It took quite a while to solve the issue.

thats what exactly i said with a bit of humor( since its past long ago), but i really felt sorry for them when i first saw it. never the less they have fought there way and building, when most of such projects would be sleeved. 3 cheers to them

Yeah, I knew that the wall collapsed, so that the whole area flooded. But I'm trying to say to cleveraz that the tower isn't taking forever to build. Because it had problems before construction (the flooding e.g.).

This tower isn't designed by Calatrave, but by SOM...

Wow, big thanks for the photos Malec. They have really "gotten down to business" quickly! Great to see the core literally rising up! Awesome!! Pretty soon it'll be above ground and we'll finally be able to see the tower take shape

Again good progress - the round core's top is only one level under street level and one level behind Marina 101 not far away. It'll be nice to compare those two different newcomers during the next months on their race to the sky.

Great progress. I visited the site in November last year. Never thought that this will take off so far.
Thanks for the pics.

Another supertall in DUBAI?

Dubai really can't get enough to just surprise the world.

SOM? A very reputable architect consortium.
