Exactly what am saying, it wasn't a matter of design. And it wasn't simply the weight of water who brought down the wall, it was the leaking into the site and failure to properly waterproof the wall and the terrain between it and the Marina side wall.

I really don't know why are you defending them so much. Facts are clear. And arguments like "Take some knowledge", "you just don't understand" and other things don't convince me. This kind of "I'm smart, you are stupid, and I'm right" attitude really bugs me.
Hey the company that made the piling and the ground work with the one that constructs the tower are two different ones ..and plus after the accident they doubled the wall
Yes your right this could happen not to this tower any more ..but to an other one ..I agree

The italians built Venice 1000 years ago, all of it was on water. These guys instead should just be ashamed.

And these guys are building 170 floors up the air while no one else has/can ... so what's the point?

An accident is an accident

True... However, though not in Dubai, what about the Pyramids of Giza?

However region, nor nationality should not have anything to do with great human achievements.

But to get scientific, The soil is much different. Especially when it was dredged. No one has ever built on conditions like these. Problems were bound too happen. I'm sure many of civilizations have had many failed attempts at things they succeeded at.

Edit: I did not bother too take the time too read on how the wall collapsed. My point is not factual and instead is just an example of comparison.

As a structural engineer I can state 2 facts:

1. luci203 doesnt know what he is talking about

2. The wall collapse was a temporary works failure due to insufficient propping of the wall (during construction! - temporary works engineers). The wall would not have failed in its final state when the wall was propped by basement slabs (Design engineers).

end of conversation.

thats not a good comparison since the buildings of Venice are constructed on "under water" wood piles..

btw, the "italians" didn┤t build Venice..

You don't understand, as nationality, the founders of Venice (and Roma btw) are not "Italians" like today (no Italian identity card or Italian passport)

So to topic, How many underground floors have the infinity until ground ?

Maybe 307 to the roof, 330 to the top of the crest.
