![]() Whoa... that one looks great!!! Might be a bit late for anyone to be able to get down there, but there is an Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar property show going on at Mahatma Mandir this weekend Have to say, I am very impressed with the graphics/logo they have come up with, with things like GIFT, metro rail, Chabutaras, Siddi Sayed ni Jali, Akshardham etc all looking like Mehndi. I think its really good branding for Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar. Has been thrown open by Ahmedabd Mayor Asit Vora and Nitin Patel, Urban Development Minister Govt of Gujarat |

AMD-GNGR are practically twin cities now. If you travel on Airport-GNGR road or S.G. Road, the transition between AMD and GNGR is almost unnoticeable, and the good thing is that GNGR is growing at the same speed as AMD to bridge the gap.

Even Surat must have an Urban Development Authority, because even Vadodara has one (VUDA).
Ahmedabad has more people but Surat is growing at twice the speed of Ahmedabad. Going by current rates, in 30-40 years Surat will overtake Ahmedabad (unless GIFT creates a population boom and brings in 10-15 lakh people in a decade )

I know most of migrants in Surat are labourers but I just stated the facts that I read :-
"According to a report, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) area witnessed a huge 56 per cent rise in population between 2001 and 2011. SMC’s population rose from 28.42 lakh to 44.01 lakh. Compare to this Ahmedabad’s population growth was only 20% in same decade. This means if trend continues in future years, Surat can possibly leave Ahmedabad behind at some point of time." Link (Any further comments on this topic can be posted on the AMD discussions page as this thread is for projects in AMD) |

growing in head count is not something we should be proud of.
That's one of the biggest problem of nation, and it has multiple compounding effects. Hope the trend of cuba (decilne in population) visits our country. |

A huge land parcel of 900 bigha in Mulasana village near Thol has been sold to leading developers in the city for a whopping Rs 315 crore. The deal, struck by H N Safal Group and Goyal Group, is said to be the first major deal in almost two years that cross the Rs 300-crore mark in and around Ahmedabad.
