Sai Info plans Rs 100 cr IPO

Quote:
Ahmedabad-based Sai InfoSystem (India) Pvt Ltd (SIS), which has set a target of Rs 200 crore as consolidated investment till 2009, is looking to raise funds in the region of Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore through venture capital or private equity.

A manufacturer of servers, networking products and software solutions, SIS is yet to begin talks with venture capitalists and private equity players.

Among other options, the company might also go for an initial public offering of Rs 100 crore in the financial year 2008-09 , said Sunil Kakkad, chairman and managing director of SIS, on the sidelines of the launch of 'SIS Blade Server', an in-house developed blade server.

“The SIS Blade is a server chassis housing multiple thin, modular electronic circuit boards, known as server blades. A blade server is a computer on a motherboard, which includes processor, memory, and sometimes storage," said Kakkad.

The server, which is priced between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 25 lakh, is expected to bring down power costs by 40 per cent. Targeted at enterprises with huge IT infrastructure, Kakkad hopes the product would increase the company's turnover to Rs 350 crore in 2007-08, as against Rs 234 crore in the previous year.

The company is also looking at having a global presence in at least 15 countries including the US and Europe by 2010. SIS has also set a target of Rs 1,000 crore turnover by 2010, apart from being a dominant player in IT retail and gaming.

Im starting to think Hafeez is losing the will to live.

new gandhinagar offices for ICICI (slightly different frm their upcoming hyderabad offices...but only slightly), as apart of the new IT 'infocity' coming up in the area. apparently the bhoomi puja was done in Aug 2007, so constuction should be in full swing.

I dont mean to single you or this post, but I hope everybody listens to this because this is happening in many threads. Maybe many people do it to raise their thread count. There is a discussion in the Chaibar about being more choosy with the news and info we post here. And I totally agree with them.

Bakeri to bring Rs 1kcr township

Quote:
THE RECENT flourish in Gujarat’s realty sector has evoked interest of the oldest and well-known names in the construction business in the state. City-based Bakeri Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd has chalked out a comprehensive plan for implementing a Rs 1,000-crore integrated township project which attempts to cash in on the realty boom by reaching out to both the high-end and middle-income groups. The project, taking shape on 65 acres of land within the city, will not only have high-end villas and apartments, but will also house a mall, a budget hotel, office-parks and high-rise buildings.
“The township project, which is still at a rudimentary stage, will have about 7 million square feet of saleable space and will cost about Rs 1,000 crore”, Pavan Bakeri, one of the key officials in the management team of the company, told ET about the project that will be completed over a period of seven years.
The project, to be executed near the posh Prahlad Nagar locality of the western Ahmedabad, will allocate about 60% of the space to residential structures while the rest will be used for commer cial purpose.
Talking about funding of the project Bakeri said, “Though (real-estate players like) DLF and Delhi-based Alfa G:Crop had approached us, we will be going alone on this project. We have a land bank, we have a strong and reputed brand and funding is not a problem”.
About 4,000 apartments will be con structed as a part of this project. The hi end section will have luxury villas, row houses and 1,500 service apartments “In this project we are focusing on the middle, upper-middle and high income groups”, he said.
Pavan Bakeri also said that the com pany will also be looking to expand into other cities of Gujarat like Vadodara in the coming years. “However, for the next two years, we are not overextend ing ourselves”, he remarked.

Gujarat’s first IT SEZ to come up at Sanathal

Quote:
The Pune-based Vascon Engineers Limited has started construction of the state's first Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) SEZ at Sanathal village off the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway.
The project is being jointly developed by Vascon, Agrawal Estate Organisers of Gujarat and Pristine Properties of Pune at a cost of Rs 350 crore. It will cover an area of 26 acres and will be complete in a period of four years. However, the first phase will come up only by May 2009.

The project is expected to create approximately 20,000 jobs. The developers claim that more than half a dozen IT companies have agreed to open their operations from this SEZ in the first phase, thereby providing employment to about 6,000 people.

Vascon is chiefly involved in real estate and construction business and has only recently diversified in the development of IT parks in Pune. It chose Ahmedabad for its SEZ after a NASSCOM survey showed the project would be successful in the city.

R Vasudevan, the company's managing director told mediapersons on Wednesday that he was hopeful that Ahmedabad would emerge as an IT hub as the state government has extended all kinds of assistance in bringing investment to the state.

He said the company's plans include the construction of a hotel and shopping facilities to meet the demands of the customers as also sufficient parking spaces, adding that this was their first venture in western India outside Maharashtra.

"We are excited about this project given its location, excellent connectivity and the very positive attitude shown by the authorities. We are confident of Ahmedabad emerging as a cutting edge IT infrastructure venue," Vasudevan said.

Vascon president C V Shah said the development would be so planned that the work on the next phase would progress smoothly without affecting the efficiency and comfort of the users of the ready phase.

Phoenix Group plans A’bad business hotel

Quote:
Hospitality and real estate conglomerate Phoenix Group has announced plans to develop a luxury-class business hotel in Ahmedabad. The group, promoted by West Asia-based investors, has identified land in the city and work on the project is expected to begin by the end of this year.

We plan to invest Rs 1,500 crore over a span of six years in hospitality and real estate projects. Hotels targeting business travellers will be developed in Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam and Chennai. Our realty subsidiary is also developing a villa project in Goa, the land for which has already been acquired. Our focus is on unexplored potential in these business centres” said Priti Chand, director, communications. “The Ahmedabad project has been designed as a hotel with more than 150 rooms. Gujarat is also an important market, as a lot of out bound tourist are from the state.”

In the hospitality sector, Phoenix has properties in three cities — two Radisson resorts and a Country Inns and Suites — all franchises of Carlson hotels.

Its first luxury business hotel, which is being opened in Bangalore, is expected to become operational over the next few months. The group's first luxurious villa project in Goa, Phoenix Palms, will consist of more than two hundred high-end villas, as well as 100 apartments. The group has also recently acquired a plot of about 250 acres in Goa, where it intends to start a villa project, which would include a golf course.

The group, which has its headquarters in Bangalore, is considering an initial public offer (IPO) and private equity options to fund its expansion. Phoenix operates through Radisson hotels, and is looking for more franchises for their upcoming properties. The group, however, denied the possibility of a tie-up with local developers for the construction or management of the hotels
