Actually the wobbley red bit building looks much better in that picture - thanks Spread.

You guys have asked all the same questions that came to me regarding orientation, location etc. I'm still no clearer!!

That steep curvy site to the left of Ludgate Hill has huge potential design wise - with it's level drops, kink due to the road and size (if you include the bit where St John Ambulance are. I'm only sad to not see the old buildings that are there now incorporated. Yes they're knackered, but the frontages are lovely.

As for tunnelling Great Charles St, whilst it in technically possible engineering wise, it would be all the traffic that comes down Great Charles St ending up at the new traffic light junction at St Chads. This could be a real bottleneck!

The idea wasn't to tunnel, but to lower the whole existing road arrangement as it stands to allow for a wider 'street level' throughfare between Church Street and Ludgate Hill.

Well, Rough Diamond was just a fantasy, but that particular plot of land must be ripe for the plucking

oooooooooooooooooh

We like.

I walked down gcs yesterday, im not sure looking at the plan but are the few buildings on the corner opp newhall street staying and being added to as the hill slopes down.

Love the tower location, on opp side of railway to the new twin tower scheme. Good excuse to make full use of the arches under railway, I only know subway there, dont know if others used to their full.

Loving that. Can you imagine what the view will be like when you come into Snow Hill on the Metro or train with the Snow hill towers on your left and that to the right?!

Any idea on timescale woody?

Well the shapes alright. But I suppose it's the cladding that counts.

IS that 26 stories on the big one?

and when I say the shapes alright, I mean it's great! Colour me pink! Look good to me!

Very nice.

Whats the intended useage, residential or commercial?

Hopefully it'll help draw more people towards the J. quarter and add a bit more life to the place

Thanks for those. Im guessing the taller tower and area is offices and the lower residential/hotel. Floor to ceiling heights look alot bigger on the the taller tower.

100m?

So it's another tower about the same height was what was the tallist building (as opposed to structure??) in Birmingham until a few years ago, and we're not getting that excited about the tower, hmm!

Im very excited. As said before, Birmingham's density is going to be phenominal. Uncontested within the UK. Most smaller American cities progressed this way and are only now breaking thier long standing height records.

We will have our 130m+ towers coming along every now and then to add even more bulk but give it time and we will see neighbouring sites wanting to surpass these and gradually grow.

Manchester has gone to soon. Building massive already will leave the market saturated. Many will argue but that is'nt the case but its hard not to believe so. Brum is playing its cards better then Bruce Forsyth. Get the base then shoot up.

Im loving it!

I Didn't realise it was the two sections of land included. its a big site.

How far is this progressed? It looks like a very early stage.
