If you haven't seen them then I'd also recommend The Pawnbroker and the Anderson Tapes.
Those two movies prove that Lumet could direct with great aplomb any kind of film and of any kind of genre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pawnbroker_(film) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Anderson_Tapes The one I've always wanted to see though is Child's Play (1972).

Captain America: Complete claptrap nonsense. Worst "super" hero ever. His shield was more important than his "powers" which are just being buff.
'Arry Twatter and the some shit of something or other. Not too terrible but meh. I really can't enjoy anything with a wizard in it, it is just too lame. I will admit though there were a couple of moments where I thought that I wouldn't have minded if I had bothered to watch the other films. The Ring (US) - Not the Japanese one but still reasonably ok. This scared the shit out of me back in the day. "That's it? They see her climb out of the well and they die somehow? I can't see where this could possibly be going" "Oh, look. She is walking towards the camera, sooooo scary" "Wait a minute, oh god! Oh god! NOOOOOOOOOOO." I should mention that little girls in films scare the shit out of me, probably started with The Shining

Captain Ameirca...went to see it because some friend here in Hanoi were going, sounded like fun....no. Admittedly there were some pretty cool scenes in it from time to time, but the whole thing was just a series of 'wtf' moments, woefully dismal attempt at a love story, cheesy to the point of nausea, plot was non-existant, tommy lee jones should have been given more screen time, just cus he's a legend. Never read a comic book in my life but that didn stop me enjoying things like Spiderman and Superman and the batman movies. This was just a guy on steroids throwing his dam shield at everything that was German.
Errmm...4/10

Get Carter (1971)
My favourite British film of all time. Michael Caine at his very best. Mild spoiler below. 10/10

A 4/10? I wouldn't even give such a low score to the godawful, truly plotless Transformers 3. |

The Ward - Seen so many horror flicks lately and this doesn't stand out but it wasn't crap either. On first reading about the storyline it seemed quite good but having watched it I just felt like it could have been better. Worth a watch though. 6.5/10
Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) - Not a patch on the original and Robert Englund is Freddie Krueger! 4/10 Hollow Man 2 - Loved the 1st one but I couldn't get into this one and gave up about 25 minutes before the end. 2/10 |

Horrible Bosses
It had some funny one liners but I mainly went to see it so I could see Jennifer Aniston dressed in lingerie sucking a banana. Why Brad Pitt dumped her and shacked up with Slug Lips is beyond me. She's a proper MILF. 8/10. My score would have been lower if it didn't have a lot of sexual innuendo in it.

Cowboys and Aliens---6.5/10
Enjoyable movie but I was expecting a whole lot more from Jon Favreau after Iron Man I/II. Harrison Ford was good (he is good in most things), Daniel Craig was James Bond with a cowboy hat, and the aliens were menacing. Sam Rockwell was pretty good too and Olivia Wilde was hot. The story was a bit weak but the movie got better closer to the end. Great landscapes just like Brokeback Mountain. I prefer gunfights and lasers over anal sex though. Seeing Native Americans vs aliens was amusing. Lots of Western cliches in this one. |

The amount of times people on this thread drool over the impending release of some bit of histrionic multiplex fluff, only to be bitterly disappointed when it reveals itself as the congealed slice of dreck it really is is laughable. Yes, through my tears, I am laughing.
