Today I passed by this building, from the backside(not the corniche road)
taking pictures is not allowed since there is the British embassy, so I took the pictures from the car.

Thank you all for the construction pictures!
I myself have seen the blueprints and renderings for Cesar Pelli's Landmark, and I have been enamored of the project ever since. This building is going to be absolutely gorgeous, inside and out... the few images available on the internet in no way do it justice. Crowning the building is going to be a 60-100 foot enclosed atrium "sky-garden." Like many such projects, the lower 40 or so floors will be primarily commercial, with the residential units above. As you reach the upper floors, the residential units get progressively larger... IE from ~16 units a floor, to 8, to 4, to 2 gigantic 10+ bedroom units per floor... there may have been one or two of the very uppermost floors with 1 unit a piece, no doubt many of these reserved for uber-wealthy individuals and their families/staffs, or perhaps the building's owner... What was really struck me about the renderings/blueprints I saw was how stunningly gorgeous both the exterior and interior of the building will be. Even the bathroom fixtures were sublime, they belong in the MoMA. I hope more of these images become available soon... |

Would be great if we could get some updates of this one, as well as updates of the other big projects in abu dhabi more regularly. Others such as the central market, etihad towers, etc.

Cesar Pelli has designed a lot of great buildings, with this being no exception. We have a building design by Pelli right here in my home town in Connecticut. Looking foreward to seeing how this comes out.
