Nice rendering that (2 threads up). Whatever happened to the proposed twin towers that looked to be over 1000 feet in the masterplan from a few years ago?

I think they decided to take it out of the plans due to the planners inability to get it approved.

from keppel land's website

One Raffles Quay

Location
: Raffles Place

Proposed Address
: 1 Raffles Quay

Description
: Two office towers,
* a podium block and
* a subterranean
* retail link

Expected Completion
: 2006

Net Floor Area
: 1.32 mil sf

Keppel Land together with two Hong Kong developers, Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited and Hongkong Land Limited, successfully tendered for the 1.14 ha Marina Boulevard waterfront site in March 2001.

Located at Raffles Place, along Raffles Quay, the site is at the centre of Singapore's business and financial district.

The landmark development will showcase several key elements of infrastructure for Singapore’s New Downtown including an underground air-conditioned retail link leading to Raffles Place MRT, a hub car park, and a District Cooling System plant.

Comprising two office towers linked by a podium, the large-scale development commands a total of about 1.32 million sf of lettable space. North Tower is a 50-storey building with 756,520 sf of office space. The building has a typical column-free floor plate of about 18,000 sf. At ground level, the pedestrian plaza faces Raffles Place.

Linked to the North Tower by a landscaped plaza is South Tower, a 29-storey building offering 563,076 sf of column-free space with large regular floor plates of about 30,000 sf which is popular among financial institutions. To accommodate the special needs of leading financial instituitions, there are three designated trading floors.

The project is destined to make a major impact in both the city’s skyline and it’s pedestrian experience. The main contract was awarded to Obayashi Corporation in June 2002 and works have commenced on site. The development is expected to be completed in 2006.

Hey I think you might be looking at the wrong building in this rendering...its the one which is more skinny looking towards the right of the newer buildings!

By Chan Hwa Loon, Channel NewsAsia

SINGAPORE : Dutch bank ABN Amro is taking up the largest office lease in Singapore since 1998.

The bank has committed to occupying 160,000 square feet at the upcoming One Raffles Quay.

The 1.3 million square foot office project is being developed in Raffles Place by a consortium equally owned by Keppel Land, Hongkong Land and Cheung Kong.

ABN Amro's lease is the first signed for the development.

When completed in April 2006, One Raffles Quay will house the bank's regional hub.

Currently, ABN Amro's operations are located mainly in OCBC East Building at Chulia Street and another office in Market Street. - CNA
