BANGALORE/HYDERABAD: With the real estate market showing signs of stabilising after months, listed firms having real estate as a non-core business have begun to accelerate their exit from the sector.
Lanco Infratech, which planned to aggressively expand into various states with integrated township projects on the lines of Lanco Hills in Hyderabad, has decided against it and dropped its realty business plans owing to unfavorable real estate markets.

The company has pruned down its business plan to 4 million sq ft at Lanco Hills involving Rs 2,200 crore of capital outlay from the originally envisaged 8-million sq ft requiring Rs 5,000 crore of investment.

"We have already completed 2.7 million sq ft of the project and waiting for the markets to revive to complete the balance 1.3 million sq ft. While demand from residential sector is yet to pick up, the demand from the commercial sector has been growing significantly. We are currently talking to certain leading Information Technology players to sell them bulk of the balance project," says a senior official from Lanco.

Well, that sucks. The Design was simple yet gorgeous. Atleast hope the APIIC Tower gets built. We need at least 1 supertall in AP.

That pretty much sums it up now. I just wish that last three years didn't happen to Hyderabad. This project is pretty much scrapped for now. I am still keeping faith in APIIC tower though. Even this depends on whether state gets bifurcated or not.

Signature Tower consists of:
112 floor Residential tower
Designed by Atkins (approx. 300 flats)
Club House within the tower
Height 604 meters

The plan for signature tower is intact and we will definitely come up with but the present market condition is still not giving that confidence to take up such a huge residential venture. It can get a kick start any moment, when the market earns a capacity to consume.

It's highly unlikely this will be constructed now looking at the article kailash posted....Would be cool if it did!
