it has something to do with these 11cities iceskating competition, the 'elfstedentocht' last one was in '96 or so because it doesn't freeze enough anymore.

I think that bridge is also a war memorial, so it's not meant to be 'pretty'.

this is really the best bridge I've ever seen, it conects 3 islands in a fluvial city of northern Italy where it's possible to eat the best eels of the world and have Stendhal sindrome in the same day.

it's Ferrara's best keept secret!

no Calatrava bridge can compete with this!
