Winnipeg is certainly the most vibrant city in the heart of North America--- it's an old city in Midwest standard, with the best traditional architecture all around the Prairies. And, it WAS my home.

Winnipeg has one of the best traditional architecture. I live on the southwest side of winnipeg and its alot more vibrant than downtown winnipeg. Actually there are a lot of different areas in winnipeg where the urban life is great. Most pics I see on this website are basically downtown/central winnipeg. If I get a chance, I'll upload some pics from different areas.

Just wanted to add, there is an estimated 10,000 immigrants coming in this year and the numbers will increase over the next few years. So in about 5-6 years Winnipeg will be on the map, we'll just have to wait and see

Good stuff, I'm surprised at the amount of old cool old building in Winnipeg, I didn't know that was the case, I thought is would be like Edmonton sort of. How does it compare to Vancouver size wise? About 1/2 or so?
