Would you live or work @ 100 stories high?

I know this is probably redundant, asking this question on a skyscraper forum, but I want you to really think about it and not just say yes just to sound bold. Your true, deep down personal feelings is what I'm looking for.

Let's say, the Freedom Tower for example, is now built and they have offices/condos at the very top and you have the opportunity to work or buy a condo there.

Would you be worried or afraid, or even slightly uneasy?

What if it is a member of your family or a close friend, would you discourage or encourage them to live or work up there. This question can be applied to any supertall tower but since many people feel the Freedom tower is symbolic, and that it could be a target, makes this question even more poignant.

Wow, 100 stories is pretty high...I'd feel uncomfortable doing anything at that height. The elevator rides would be way too long anyway.

I currently work on an observation deck that's about 35 floors. I think that's plenty high enough...But anything higher than 70 or so is too high for my tastes.

edit: oh I forgot, and if it's a family member or friend that has the opportunity...of course I'll beg them to take the highest floor they can! that'd be sweet.

I would for sure but seriously I'd pack a couple of escape parachutes just in case.

Speaking of height if you fell out of a 3 story building you'd most likely kill yourself or at least paralyzing yourself to the point life would be hanging by a thread. You may not even survive a 2 story fall so I wouldn't mind living at 100 stories at all. It would be great and I think there's really nothing to worry about.

Would I willingly live in a tower with 5,000 other people in a microscopic 10 foot wide tunnel-like unit with just a single window at the far end, and put up with endless hassles due to finite elevator capacity, security, parking, and the rest? No way in hell.

Would I willingly live at 80 South Street? Absolutely.

I would rather work up in a 100 story building rather than live in it.

What a view! As long as there are high-speed express elevators to get me to street level quickly.

The images of the twin towers going down, naturaly haunts us all, when talking security in a very tall building. Of couse the chances of being killed or hurt in a fire, or getting a heartattack if the lift one day sets out and you have to walk up there, is much greater.

Personaly i dont know. I would like to think that i wuld not mind, but then i have never been higher then about 20 floors, so what the hell do i know...I do think that i would probably draw the line at half or around 50 stories...Anything else seams a little wierd.

I don't think I would mind. Of course there would be a huge sort of thrill at first but within a few days you'd get used to it. Rational thinking tells you that you have a million times better chance of getting run over rather than say, falling from an apartment, having planes smash into it, the building toppling over, etc.

BTW, oxygen pumped to the top?
Not unless it's over 5000m high
