I pointed that out already on the first pics when there is no glass in front of the camera. I was ignored. I also believe that the tower is leaning way to much.

It's called lense distortion. It's caused by the light refracting of the curved edges of a wide angle camera lense.

The tower is NOT leaning.

I think you said that about a picture of the base of the tower, taken by me some weeks ago. It was simply the positioning of the camera, meaning I wasn't holding the camera correctly.

I wish I had the time, but there were different pics that were taken awhile back with other towers in the background that looked very straight and BD looked like it was slanting relative to those buildings, in which case, a camera angle would ahve nothing to do with it. All the close up shots of the building, it definitely looks straight. It's the ones taken from far away with other buildings int he background, that make BD look like it's on a slight angle. But again, I'm probably wrong as I'm sure the ppl in Dubai who look at it everyday will know better.

it is because of the large field camera effect. if we exaggerate this effect one can see skyscraper in one photo like this.

it doesnt look odd as we have a building in the center of the photo. but what if the central building is not present and we take photo from the same angle:

now the skyscraper looks leaning in an odd fashion.
this explains why Burj Dubai is leaning in the photo.

To Altin.D and mehdi_cs

I see your point. So if you take a picture of a very large straight object like a tower it may appear like its leaning if you take the picture really close. I understand that. But there is this pic of the burj taken from far away and it was posted by Bahraini Spirit in page 11 where the tower seems to be leaning. Is it because it is at the edge of the lense?

It is just an optic ilusion becouse of the shape of the tower. The tower IS straight up.

not because of the shape of the tower but because of its off-center position in the picture.
