Imagine if they somehow built the Burj the same way buildings are built in SimCity...........
it would look like one giant erection

Well Sorry for the distortion in the BD pic. That's a quick panoramic assembly. I guess a simple photoshop blend would finally be nicer, but at least they're assembled at the correct intersections now.

Don't belive to the "200m Spire". all the new models have a small spire not taller than 100m and they have more than 160 floors

a 600m+ tower with a 100m spire will make it look ugly!

look at the new models, then you see what i mean.

Old with a "200m spire":

and new with the small spire:

what is better, the big spire or the small?

I like the big spire alot better, it complements the buildings petite width (In porportion to it's height of course)

I think the 600m figure (Which I have heard in several media sources) is to the roof of the building, I'm sure the spire will be at least 700m, I hope.

you cant actually see where the spire goes to in the new picture...it goes off the top. Also I was under the impression that some of the spire will be made to look like floors to make it look attractive because they would be unable to fit an elevator into a space that small.

This is actually wrong. The 2nd pic is just a stretched version of a 700m render. The render posted in the article is the 800m one.

Abbar has clearly stated at the commencement of construction that Burj Dubai will be a minimum of 800m and will be extended to 950m if needed.

Mystery solved. Now stop speculating.
