If it does not look better it wont be finnished.

I love it all raw and messy. It's a construction site they all look like that.

I count about 21 cranes in that picture, there's absolutely no way that there could be 35000 in dubai.

It can also backfire. While there seems to be no doubt that this will definitely be the WTB when topped out, the speculations of its final height, on average, keep going up. From low 600s, through 700s, and now low 800s. It seems to me that if it will top out at below 810 m now, a lot of people are going to be disappointed despite the fact that it will be the uncontended WTB in all 4 categories (antenna/flag pole/lightning rod - spire/architectural - roof - top floor), and the more its final height will be below that current expectation of 810, the more people are going to be disappointed.

I'm no marketing specialist, but I would say that interest during its construction is far less important than interest once it's finished. After all, most of the income this tower is going to generate comes from when it's finished. From occupants, visitors, tourists. In that respect, I'd say that if they had just said it would be, for example, 650 m high, and then pull a "Chrysler building stunt" at the very end, making it 810 m, they'd draw a much bigger crowd than the other way around. After all, people in a skyscraper forum speculating on its height do not bring in any money for them.

OK... I know that probably part of my objection is that I want to see this building finished and know its final height, but still...

WOW, this thing is getting insanely tall. It's hard to believe it's not even at the halfway point yet.
