New CTA maps on trains - and who's worried about loop overcrowding?

Anyone else notice they have the new rail maps up in the train cars? Or at least the brown line...

Looks like they took out the separations between elevated and subway on the maps, and used the dashed lines for only rush hour express service. Also noticed they took out the transfers at Fullerton, and State/Lake. Not sure why they did that. - actually now that I look at the online map, they have the two transfers on that map, but they took them off the maps "posted in each car".

On a side note - is anyone else worried about how crowded it's going to become on the loop elevated now? We're going to have orange, purple, pink, and green lines all running the same direction in the loop. It already gets jammed up at the signal crossings as it is. I assumed they would have run the pink line the same direction as the brown since it's the only train that runs counterclockwise (except for the green which runs both directions over half the loop). Now we're gonna have one counterclockwise and three clockwise.

Did it not work? It came through for me. It's just a huge PDF file...if anyone knows how to pull the picture out of the PDF and insert it onto this forum...be my guest. I don't know these things...

I haven't been paying too much attention to CTA's future transit vision, so I'm wondering, what is the plan for accessibility on other lines now that the pink line is fully accessible and the brown line is undergoing a retrofit (although I will miss the rickety stations)? The red line is notoriously inaccessible, and the blue line needs some work, too.

The transfers at Fullerton and State/Lake are still there. Note black bar and "T" in the black bars.

Brown Line between 5-6 p.m. 16 Trains ( 1 train ever 3 min 45 sec)
Orange/Brown/Pink 5-6 p.m. 24 Trains (1 train every 2 min 30 sec)

That is sort of amazing isn't it? They are adding 8 trains to a side of the tracks that already has 16 trains running on it compared

It has to be something to do with the switches...I am very curious now.

^ yeah I see the transfers on that map and the map on their website. The weird thing is on the actual train cars they have maps where they took the transfers off. Maybe they're just stupid - it's happened before.

ewww.. they aren't actually painting the cars pink, are they? Advertising is okay, I guess - it looks kinda cool - but a solid pink L train, I'm not sure about.

There are new transfer stations between Jackson and Library now according to the map.

Did they made the Pink line go Clockwise just to stop at Clark and Lake first rather than Last?

I have read the .pdf file yet (nice that it's in Polish ) And I have 2 questions:
1. Are there new lines planned??
2. When would the old trains be exchanged??

That's what I was wondering too... why can't they just use the same trains?

This part made me laugh (even tho I shouldn't laugh, the way it's in there so nonchalantly):

Better Connections:
• Now serves Polk  (Pink/Blue) station
• Serves the University of Illinois at Chicago, Greyhound Bus terminal, Union Station, Main Post Office, and Domestic Violence Court

I like the new line. It makes sense to recognize it's another service.

My only question is: why not just keep the Cermak branch of the blue line as a full-service line (instead of rush-hour only) and add the pink line? Why does adding the pink line have to dimish service on the CB of the blue line?

The pink line already has greater service frequency than what CB used to have, iirc. Adding a full time blue line in addition to that would mean it has more service than the higher-demand other branch (Cicero?) of the blue line.
