THE HAGUE | Strijkijzer | 132m | 41 fl | U/C

This is the talles UC in The Hague, The Netherlands. A great design inspired by the flatironbuilding in NYC. The name - Strijkijzer - is the translation in dutch for flatiron.

functional height 132.00 meter
storeys 41
Tallest UC of Holland.

If you count the M it's Montevideo in Rotterdam, 152m, if you don't count that M it is Deltsche Poort in Rotterdam, 151,5m. So this one will not become the tallest, but it is just the tallest UC. In a few months Maastoren in Rdam, 165m, will strart construction.

I don't know if the crown will be lit up at night, but I think it will.

Great tower to see now under construction, Tim de Bruijn, thanks for the tread!

In which corner of the city of The Hague is the tower under construction? In the downtown of The Hague of the stationarea?

I consider you mean or, but eeh...downtown and the Central station area are a lot like

Let's say it's downtown. however it's a few blocks from the Central station, close to an area called Holland Spoor.

Honestly it's a gorgeous addition to the Hague's skyline, which becomes quite dense within a few years.

It's a cross between the DG Bank Building in Frankfurt and the Flatiron Building in New York with the added height of course. And with a modern twist. Love it. I hope it goes down well because some Dutch scrapers are horrible.

No, the Hoftoren is the current tallest in the Hague at 142m. Most of the existing highrise was built within the last ten years though.

But this tower will have the tallest floor of The Hague for some years. The top 30 meters of the Hoftoren are empty.

That's right. As you can see, there's almost another floor built.

That means they made 8 floors in only a few weeks time!! An incredible speed

I jsut noticed the open space in the side of the building. They look cool but won't that lower the average floor area? It would look even thinner. Will there be like a skygarden or a balcony on the flat level of these open spaces?
