New Orleans - USA

What do you think of the "Big Easy", New Orleans? The population for this city in the state of Louisiana is 1,337,726. (Couldn't find many good pics, so if you can find some, please feel free to post).

My opinion is one of high disappointment. One, it NEEDS and anchor building to hold down downtown. All the buildings are about the same height and look the same. Second, the architecture is very poor. There is no history in those buildings for a city as old as New Orleans. The buildings are simply ugly. I give the city a 5/10.

For a city the size of New Orleans and its location in the Sunbelt, also with all those energy companies, I'm really surprised the skyline isn't better. I have never been to NO but from pictures the skyline does not impress me at all. I generally like boxy skylines, but you can't have all boxes like NO has. Maybe there's some nice older buildings behind those boxes, if there are please post them. Otherwise I give it a 5.5/10, it's a cool city with a nice setting beside the Miss. River.

I give the New Orleans skyline an 8/10. I just got back from there, and the skyline is very impressive in person. And the city below buildings is even better.

New Orleans is not as big as most people think... it's fame is much bigger than its population... so its skyline is pretty good for its size... and 697 for the tallest is pretty good... unfortunately, most of New Orleans' skyscrapers are the ugliest of 1960's-80's Sunbelt architecture... it's really quite depressing... I give NO a 4
