Hmmm, don't think so. Pretty sure Eden Apartments is a seperate development. The eden apartments were never partof the original Hanover Scheme when it first came to light yonks and yonks ago. I could be very wrong.

I must say that I also thought they were all the same development.

I thought they were part of the same development, but being built first to increase the desireablilty of the area. Then they were gonna start on Hannover House afterwards.

Where did you get this information from? Like adamblade I always thought it was a seperate development to Hanover House.

Just discovered this on the net (not sure how current it is though!) regarding the redevelopment of Hanover House.

It refers to a 17 storey tower on the site consisting of offices, shops, cinema and restaurants together with 250 apartments and 9 live and works units.

Here’s the link

the planning app begins 03/ Doesn't that mean it was submitted in 2003?

Also, the site refers to it as a "conversion". As I understand it, there is no 17 storey tower there at the moment!

I wonder if when this begins, the developers apply for a height increase after what's happening over the road?

The development behind Stokes is the Eden apartments, it's a different developer to the Hanover House site but the same architects (axis) which is probably where its on render to show it in relation to Hanover.

You haven't been talking to yourself, on this very page about 5 people have pointed out that it is a different development. I beleive it is covered by the 'City Centre Apartments' thread.

I can understand why this is, but isn't it annoying when renders like this are produced which do not show anything where currently under construction large buildings are close by.
Here we have an area that is going to be dominated by Velocity Tower on a neighbouring site, and the alignment and effect of City gate, Velocity tower and Hanover are going to combine to set a new skyline for this area.
Pictures of each of these projects in isolation give the wrong impression in my view.

I agree, but when Hanover House was proposed, I doubt whether Velocity Tower was even the glint in the milkman's eye, let alone the bastard child of Cala and Velocity...

edit:Also, why would Hanover House developers want to show a bigger tower just over the road and have everyone saying "oooh! Look at that, that's lovely, we'll buy a flat there". "No love, you don't get it. We're building the dumpy blue one, not the pretty slender green one..."

Velocity tower was just a twinkle in Velocity's eye when this render was produced and we hadn't details for Eclipse. That's why neither are on there - we wouldn't want to deceive anyone by getting it wrong, would we?

EDIT: sorry Lewis, hadn't got to your reply....you were spot on!

Oh, and Hanover GATE (!!!!!) is a completely separate development to the Eden apartments. Though you appear to have cleared that up too.

ps: there're rumours that Velocity are looking at Hanover Gate.
