Sådan en gang dej. De fik endda ændret lokalplanen for Liebskinds skyld, ja selv Fields blev underkastet den. Det mest mærkelige er den høje mærkelige kasse, der ses i tværsnit. Det er bare for dårligt NCC.

Wonder if Liebeskind approved the alterations? The new renderings looks like a completely different plan - there is basically nothing of Liebeskind's original plan left.

Regarding the new school. Heard a rumor that the kids will not be allowed to use the elevator! All those stairs will be good exercise

As the article mention, it's very charming that there's open access to the school, and let's hope it will remain like this. But also the around 700 pupils and teachers arriving and leaving to the school, will increase activity, and bring in some life in the neighbourhood.

A bicycle trip around Ørestad on a beautiful day led to this little update.

The elderly peoples home by Ørestad station. Best in sunny weather.
I have been trying to work out if all the balcony boxes are the same shape and just rotated??

The "Irma" building now up in full height and of course Cabinn, soon to be expanded, in the foreground.

According to this newsletter from By&Havn 90% of the 10.000 m2 of commercial premises in 8tallet have been rented out to 17 different companies.

http://www.byoghavn.dk/da-DK/Presse/...435DDFC13986F0

I think the other developers like eg KLP and NCC should take a look at how it has been done in 8tallet. It is actually poosible to have commercial succes without building a closed box with a canteen for the employees and no interaction with the surroundings. In 8tallet there is no canteen for the employees. Instead they have to bring their own food or buy some at the local "Kervan" or cafe 8tallet. This means that these two places have customers during the whole day.

Humoristic and happy architecture in the first 2 blochs, and then looks what happen in the third building: no joy, no colors, like a vulcanic stone. Then the paradox; In spite the diversed expression, it's actually works together..Hmmm, architecture is a funny size.

hmm.. They are both very good examples of bad taste and half done "architecture".
Rows of buildings with same height and flat rooftops has always been the best way towards failure...

I've said it many times before, but your shots are so ******* delicate!

+1

I went by Ørestad last night and I agree with those who says, the school looks much better IRL. Not to turn this into a photo thread, but I also brought my camera and caught this skyline shot, by the way:

Great shots, as always.

On the school I must say that I am utterly disappointed. What happened to that exciting facade with a lot play? Seems as if KHR themselves are trying to hide the traces and the original renderings on their site. It looks as if it went through a severe rationalization phase, completely losing its original qualities. Now, trying to save some of that with the blue'ish windows and create a contrast to that completely dead, pre-fabricated brick-facade; not turning out well.

Aim1 - you are really good at this!! I'm almost sure I saw one of your many pictures exhibited as a large print on a canvas, in a gallery at Vesterbro near Rytmisk Center. It would fit well at home on my wall

Regarding the School - Fab5, are there any renders of the original proposal? It could be cool to see the differences to what actually got build.

Personally I find the building ok. It's even a bit interesting with all the stairs. But if I were a kid again, I might get a bit tired of all those stairs and I would also like to play with a ball from time to time. So imagine shooting a football out over the railing, who would it hit? And would I be able to find it again before class?

Last, but not least - kids can be stupid at times. Sure some of them would like to climb the railings just for fun. Maybe barb wire has to be added just to prevent a predictable accident, with the added bonus, that some of the kids will feel at home, when they later in life go to prison

True that! You sneaky one . I didn't notice "that" underline under "that" word in the text.

Agree with you completely on the facade. It's not the same, by far.

Thanks I'm pretty sure that it wasn't one of my pics, but it could very well have been from my friends at CPHCPH
