They reported that English fans were insulting the German fans who left the public viewing area but from what I've seen Germans were actually the ones who started to get physical.
  And that German guy here on the left is certainly no ordinary football fan but a hooligan looking for trouble:

Idiots, but I don't like the way the media has made it out to be only English fans causing the trouble. Clearly the German hooligans were just as bad and those photos illustrate it! Such a shame that alcohol can make a minority of people violent...after all the warnings as well.

Before anyone gos schiz over the arrest figures too, the German arrest is different from a British arrest, i.e. the "500" were'nt arrested in the sense we all know and (some of us) love, only a two-figure number. there, a glorified detain counts as an arrest.
