LOCATION

In real estate, location is everything. Building Materials City has selected a prime location, on the road leading to the Abu Dhabi International Airport, between Musaffah and the Mohamed Bin Zayed City. This distinguished setting is not only in a rapidly growing part of Abu Dhabi but is also less than one hour's drive to either Al Ain or Dubai.

They are changing the name of the project from Building Material City which was the old concept of the project to:

9712 City
which is the phone area code for Abu Dhabi

They will launch the new name anytime soon

Manazel receives bids for Material City residences

Published: 07 August 2008 13:27 GMT

The local Manazel Real Estate has received bids from four companies for the AED1.7bn ($463m) design and build contract for office blocks at Building Material City.
The bidders are the local/French joint venture of Fibrex and Thinet Emirates, Dhabi Contracting, Al Fara'a Group, and United Engineering Construction (Unec), all local.

The works involve the construction of 17, 20-storey buildings that will have a built-up area of 440,000 square metres, and a four-level podium with a built-up area of 240,000 sq m.

The package is the latest to be developed at Building Material City. The local/French joint venture of Fibrex and Thinet Emirates was recently given notice to proceed on the infrastructure and roads construction package. The same joint venture is already working on the first phase of the building works that involves the construction of a mall of 100,000 sq m and two office towers.

CRSS International, part of the US' Jacobs Group, is the project manager .

From business perpective, the project is excellent. I dont care what it looks like, but, i am sure once the buildings r delivered, all units will be booked in few days, it is very close to city centre compared with Baniyas, wathba, shahama...

I bought 1BR in building 5, 7th floor. i think Manazel will do good outcome of the proejct. It is all sold out now. You can buy only on premium which r ranging from 10% to 15% currently.

I think to flip soon ..maybe november..

the first phase of the project is almost completed. which includes Prestige Tower (the black Cladding tower), and the tower next to it, plus the whole Commercial Complex. The Hotel tower didnt start construction yet as far as I know.

I believe the correct name of the project is "Building Materials City".

Passed by last night, and i saw piling /heavy equipment behind Prestige Tower, which I believe where the Cylindrical towers will be located.

Looks like Manazil commenced phase 2 of the project.
