These are some from Jamaica:

Almost 70-80% of these are corrollas, mostly mid 90-s/late 80's-early 90's models, but there are also a few Ladas, Nissan Sentras and the occasional Mitsubishi lancer. We also have a lot of Toyota Hiace minibuses. As you can see, they're almost always white, but I've seen and been in some colored ones(those are kind of rare).

Almost 95% of the cars you see in jamaica are Japanese, and I'd bet that at least 80% of those are Toyotas; they're everywhere.

it's interesting to see that in many countries, despite different car makers, one common thing that taxis share are tacky looking trinkets that taxi drivers put on their dashboards and hang from their mirrors.

hey they do what they gotta do to personalize their "home" away from home

u try spending like 10+ hrs in the same vehicle with a boring finish right out of the showroom.

i had a question for Mexico city, are they green cause they are environmentally safe in some way or the other? or are they just green?

I'm pretty sure they're just green...I mean, VW bugs aren't any more environmentally friendly than anything else really, are they? other than the fact that they're small and fuel efficient(somewhat).

That's my guess, but I don't live there, so...

^It's a Mercedes A Class and while I don't know the German system I very much doubt it..

The metal "badges" on the hood of NYC taxis are the medallions. Most big cities in the US require these to be stamped on the body. They show that the cab is licensed by the city.

In the German pic, that is an A class MB between the E class in front, and the C class in the rear. In Germany there is no fare difference based on the actual vehicle.

Huh....

Good luck finding a Peugot or Citroen in the US

While I still think he was referring to the German picture with the A-Class my best guess for the New York pic would be a Toyota Camry for the "non-Ford" in the back...

I found that confusing as well. The cab behind the Ford on the left side of the picture is a Toyota Sienna minivan. The Camry is smaller than the Ford.
