Tidal Technology Pinagaaralan sa Pilipinas

Pagkukunan naman daw ng kuryente ang surfing waves ng San Juan, La Union.

Maliban sa pagiging tourist attraction sa mga surfer at turista.

Pinagaaralan na ngayon ng Department of Energy (DOE) kasama ang Rewanable Energy na sure energy na gamitin ang enerhiya mula sa dagat tulad ng San Juan para makapagproduce ng koryente. Ayun kay Asst. Sec Mario Marasigan – DOE- Renewable Energy, Mngt. Bureau “Philippines kasi marami tayong mga tinatawag na Opportunities for Marine or Ocean Energy Resources”

Ayun sa Department of Energy (DOE) dahil sa year round waves ng San Juan mainam na test area ang bayan para sa sea current to electricity technology or Tidal Power. Layun nitong mapababa ang singil sa kuryente.

Ayun naman kay Mayor Ruben Valero, Jr. ng San Juan La Union. “Well if that is the proposal why not? We are always in search for the cheaper cost of electricity.”

Dahil sa crisis sa koryente at pagtama ng climate change sa bansa, kailangan maginvest ng gobyerno sa mga renewable energy maliban kasi sa murang o minsan ay libre pang makukuhanan ng koryente maganda ito para sa kalikasan, hindi na kasi ito gagamitan ng fossil fuel na nagproproduce ng green house gases na nakakasira sa kalikasan. “Mapa-Pangasinan, La Union you know, When there is big oppurtunities for us to face the big waters” sabi ni Asst. Sec Mario Marasigan – DOE- Renewable Energy, Mngt. Bureau

Pero aminado ang Energy Department na nasa-experimental stage pa ang teknolohiyang ito sinubukan na ito sa Europa at Japan, yun nga lang mahal pa ito para sa commercial use

Isa ang Pilipinas sa may pinakamaraming renewable energy resources sa buong mundo gaya ng hydo, wind, biomass, solar at geothermal.

San Fernando City market supervisor Dr. Jessie Miranda confidently informs the public on the result of the changes that he and his team continuously been working on which paved the way to a cleaner, more organized San Fernando City auxiliary wet market. Miranda, also a popular medical doctor utilized the principles of health and sanitation which inspired him to make visible changes in the supermarket that includes floor tiling on both the fish/meat or wet section and vegetable section, installing accessible water supplies in stalls and some “carinderia”, covering of canals, a systematic waste disposal system, among many. Market goers have affirmed that the rats which were a constant problem have already been exterminated as a result of the ongoing sanitation projects within the area.

Meanwhile, Congressman Victor Ortega and former City Mayor Maryjane C. Ortega, confirmed Miranda’s statement with regards to the planned renovation of the wet market’s roofs which is seen by Mayor Pablo C. Ortega to be of great benefit for both consumers and vendors especially that the rainy season is approaching.

Mayor Pablo Ortega had directed Dr. Jessie Miranda on many projects envisioning a cleaner and greener supermarket by allowing ideas of putting up mini gardens in alleys, a more organized placement of stalls, goods with a spacious “bagsakan” area and stricter waste disposal system by which garbage collection follows a regular schedule. Hence, stall owners are seen to play significant role in making the market clean and free from unwanted odors. Mayor Ortega also constantly warns delinquent stall owners against market code violations and had directed Miranda to address problems against stall owners not using their stalls to sell goods. He stressed on monitoring stalls used as storage places and purposes other than selling which is seen as inappropriate business practice.
