just been reading an article about the skylon which stood over london after the war. The Skylon got ripped down years ago but they are planning on rebuiling it near the London Eye it will be an instant landmark and will look great near the Eye. Heres an image of the Skylon

Gosh, U.K, you have been a busy boy! Some great pics here, and I don't care they aren't organised! The organised threads are so predictable... Shard, followed by Bishopsgate etc etc. Go on the Birmingham page on the UK forums and get a pic of the new Arena Central Tower. It's a beauty! Anywho, great pics - keep it up

London's going to have a magnificent skyline when these iconic buildings are completed. I can't wait.

U.K, good thread and thanks for putting the effort in to post all this.

A couple of wee suggestions for you... proper spelling and grammar go a long way to putting across a good image of yourself to other forumers; it helps you seem more credible. Also, apostrophes (here's, not heres), capital letters and punctuation are your friends!

One last thing is that it helps if you hit return to start a new line before posting a picture... it makes the page look a bit neater and it's easier for us to read the text you have written to accompany the images.

Other than that, keep up the good work... I'll look forward to reading more of your threads!

I have taken out any towers on hold or cancelled and added some new ones

Over 100m:
42
11
73

By 2012: 114 over 100m

Skyscrapers (Over 150m)
11
2
30

1985: 1 Skyscraper
2000: 2 Skyscrapers
2006: 15 skyscrapers
2012: A possible 43 Skyscrapers in the UK*

*(Excluding the London and Birmingham BT towers)

100m+
London: 64.1%
Manchester: 10.5%
Other: 25.4%

150m+
London: 74.4%
Manchester: 9.3%
Other: 16.3%

200m+
London: 100%
Manchester: 0%
Other: 0%

Of course this is just going by what we know know. New proposals are coming out all the time - by 2012 we can expect dozens of new proposals. And although it doesnt happen very often here, some towers could be cancelled.
