Wow, this looks really great! Can I just ask - What software did you use to create this magnificent map?

Really beautiful map But too many lines numbered "1" in my opinion. This is confusing.

Thanks a lot! . I have used Corel Draw X3 software.

The reason for too many lines numbered "1" is because each one is operated by differents state companies. These systems are expected to have more than one line.

I would like to have a standard design for line numeration with letters and numbers but actually, government does no care about signage.

Slightly... But is really is far more complicated than that... If each service were separated out like on German maps it would be frightening. All that's been done on here is to assign each terminus its own colour, so some routes which are served by trains to multiple termini have parallel lines shown.

If the map got the German treatment, the Waterloo Lines alone would end up like this:

...Instead they all just converge into a single red-outlined route into London.

Imagine the complex suburban routes of South London into Waterloo, Victoria, London Bridge / Cannon Street / Charing Cross + First Capital Connect all separated out like the above!

Usually in Europe they have a different prefix, like T1 for tram line 1, M1 for metro, S1 for suburban trains, etc.

They could also number them. And use a single line and colour for similar services, merging the brown line to Shepperton and the violet to Hampton Court, or the two green lines to Chessington South and Epsom, using more lines and colours than today, but less than shown in this map.

up-to-date scheme of railway network (only means of transportation operated directly by MTA: tram (solid lines), subway (blue dashed line) and SKM (violet dashed line). Does not cover Mazovian Railways and WKD.

This year alone São Paulo will increase ridership in its system by at least 1 million passengers a day, opening some 15km of lines and adding at least 40 new trains to the overall fleet. Let's wait until 2017 to see if most of those plans come true.

I think it's really stupid because Watford Junction is only about a mile from Watford High Street. If it was 5 miles away I could understand not including it in London services, but one mile is nothing, especially when Watford metro station is only a mile away too.

Oh wow! They renumbered half the S-bahn lines. I compared the 2010 map with one I had from 2007 (maybe I missed something in between) and the S4, S8, and S5 (old numbering) were changed to S3, S4, and S8. Also noticed they got rid of the colored dashed line that was A, S8, and S20. The new one looks nice!

But the main difference is the addition of the station "Hirschgarten" within the S-Bahn Stammstrecke between Pasing and Ostbahnhof. I post the map once again.

What i still don't like are the boxes of the transit stations. Their size look so random. And the size of the 2 lakes are too small. They look as they were 2 small ponds.

I didn't notice the new station. By box sizes, do you mean the difference between Pasing and Westkreuz, for example? It looks like it denotes the number of lines that pass through.
