The stations look nice, but that enormous motorway in the middle of the city is just terrible. It's not just a scar it's a bleeding wound in the city. Just think of the pollution and noise... Once again you can see that Dubai was very poorly planned.

Which came first, the motorway or the development? I suspect it was the motorway.

I just responded to greg-christine because I was confused about what the argument was about. I acknoledge though that this is rather off topic here and should have been just ignored therefore.

The point is that the city developed along the road. Prior to the development of a public transport system, there was no alternative.

Public transport or not, cities always develop around roads or other transport corridors, being *cough* rivers */cough*, lakes or sea harbours.

What a load of BS, i have driven several times on that road between 2002/3 when i was in UAE for a month, and there is nothing wrong with that road, i have seen worse in other parts of the world. If you want a proper pollution, noise and badly planned place come and stay in London as for pollution, have a look at this mess in your native germany

You think lucky hotels smack dab in front of the stations would increase their rates?

Between the malls, there is nothing but the connecting tissue of asphalt. Every road has at least four lanes; Dubai feels like a motorway punctuated by shopping centres. You only walk anywhere if you are suicidal. The residents of Dubai flit from mall to mall by car or taxis.

The origin of the author has nothing to do with this. And you sure do have some issues with London, but this is certainly not the right thread for it.

And Hari (that's how his name is spelt) is not the only one, who recognized Dubai for what it is:

Yes, as someone else said p*ss off and don't come back on this thread no-more. If i see you again posting anything slightly off topic I'll go back to these posts (I quoted) and kick you out for trolling and continuously trying to derail a thread.

Did I made my self clear?!
